The education level of Canadian welders is on the rise, according to data from CWB Group’s Welding Industry Report 2022. Almost seven in ten (68%) Canadian welders complete some post-secondary trade certification or college diploma.

The proportion of welders with a university degree has risen over time, the CWB report shows, from 1.9% in 2011, to 3.7% in 2021.

Of the 80,900 welders in the country, 15,100 are high school graduates and 10,020 have less than some high school education.
