As the cleaning out of the 1920s Price Filler Machine Shop in downtown Roanoke, VA continues, we meet David, a knowledgeable and unique rigger and machinist. David pops into the shop to pick up a “bombshell lathe.” The history of this Ryerson Bombshell Lathe dates back to the early 1900s and it was widely used in both world wars. Whenever David is in the shop, it’s guaranteed to be an interesting day.
