KUKA showcased its vision of the robotic smart factory of the future at the Hannover Fair 2016 in Germany. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about smart factories, connecting robots and other automation equipment to the cloud, the benefits of machine learning and big data for optimized production, new easier robot programming methods, flexible methods of matrixed production, as well as some new KUKA robots and how it all fits into the 4th industrial revolution - Industriy 4.0.

The Canadian Welding Association (CWA) wants to engage Canada's 200,000-plus welders and has created a new welder membership to do just that. The association kicked off the new membership with a special event at the Collective Arts Brewery in Hamilton, ON.

BC high schools with welding programs are getting a $300,000 boost after the Canadian Welding Association Foundation (CWA Foundation) announced it's expanding secondary school welding and education support programs across the province because of a donation from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation in conjunction with Seaspan, an association of Canadian companies in the coastal marine transportation and shipbuilding sectors.
