Eutectic Canada, a Granby, QC, manufacturer of gas atomized powders, has launched its next generation gas atomizer program to produce thermal spray and Plasma Transferred ARC (PTA) metal powder coatings.
“The new gas atomizer reflects our ongoing commitment to bring the latest technology to our customers. We trust this investment will strengthen our leadership in both NAFTA and international markets”, says Gordon Roseborough, president and CEO of Eutectic Canada.
According to Eutectic, the evolatuion of PTA welding, laser clad coatings and the need to reduce the environmental impact when compared to hard chrome plating, has created a demand for gas atomized powders.
The company is now producing metal and metal matrix powders manufactured using the latest gas atomization process that produces spherical particles that result in higher density, porosity-free deposits. Unique alloy properties require mininal heat input and achieve high deposition rates.
The alloy range includes self-fluxing alloys in Nickel, Cobalt and Copper as well as metals and metal alloys to meet ASTM and customer specifications. The gas atomizer has also a special feature to allow for high pressure atomisation for fine powder production.
