Friction stir welding of 8.5 m telescopic booms

ESAB demonstrates friction stir welding. Made of four 7000 Series profiles, the telescopic booms are 8.5 m long, have a thickness range of 5 – 10 mm and are welded at speeds up to 1 m/min using Friction Stir Welding (FSW). Note: No audio.
