Yaskawa Cockpit is a new software platform that monitors, accumulates and visually delivers operational data in real time for networked production environments.

This state-of-the-art data collection and visualization software tool easily connects hardware devices across an entire production environment for asset management, predictive maintenance analysis, alarm notification and data management. It provides an instant collection of data for equipment performance, operational trends and historical analysis.

Yaskawa Cockpit puts real-time data into the hands of people responsible for making decisions. Its integrated approach provides the ability to synchronize all factory and operational knowledge and enables companies to implement data-driven optimized planning, maximizing efficiency and throughput.

Yaskawa Cockpit is one of the first robot management systems that is extensible, says Yaskawa. Non-robot devices throughout the factory can be incorporated with Add-on Functions, which are used to collect, analyze and display data from various components, providing a centralized view of all operations.

While the data is processed, stored and presented locally through a simple browser-based interface, the data can also be forwarded to external resources for utilization of AI-based Big Data analytics.

Customers can use their own experience and expertise to build flexible solutions that match their needs. The use of the standard Open Platform Communication Unified Architecture (OPC-UA) interface – a widely accepted machine-to-machine protocol – allows data to be shared throughout the extended enterprise or external systems through Cloud technology.

Yaskawa Cockpit is a key component of Yaskawa’s i3 Mechatronics vision of Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). i3 solutions, such as Yaskawa Cockpit, are integrated, intelligent and innovative.

i3 Mechatronics combines classical mechatronics, information and communications technology with new digital solutions such as artificial intelligence and Big Data.
