Click image to enlargeWalter’s Xtra·tec XT M5008, an indexable high-feed milling cutter handles high-feed-per-tooth processes with low axial depths of cut.
Its 5/8–2½ in. (16–66 mm) diameter is perfect for pocketing, grooving and surface machining, and a wide variety of grades and chipbreakers make it suitable for steel, stainless steels, cast iron and other hard materials with difficult cutting properties.
Its stability is bolstered by a shallow approach angle and low radial load on the tool, plus a short and stable peripheral cutting edge. Tool life is enhanced by wear-resistant Walter Tiger·tec coating. Whether it’s configured with a shell mill mount, a parallel shank or a ScrewFit exchangeable head, its end-face geometry is specially developed for the high material removal rates required in die and moldmaking, as well as for the aerospace, energy and medical device industries.
