At this year’s CMTS, Ferro Technique will showcase the new Doosan DVF 5000 five axis compact machining center.
The DVF 5000 comes standard with an 18,000 r/min built-in 40 taper spindle. A Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC controller makes full five-axis simultaneous control possible, giving complete contouring capabilities. The machine also features a 500 mm (19.68 in.) diameter (630 mm/24.8 in. option) built-in rotary table. Available table supports allow a maximum weight of 399 kg (880 lbs.) and limits table deflection.
Each machine comes with a 60-tool servo-driven automatic tool changer that can be expanded up to 120 tools, providing more tooling for complex parts with varying profiles. An oil-cooled spindle controls heat to minimize thermal issues. The DVF 5000 also incorporates roller LM guideways for speed and added rigidity.
The DVF 5000 features a compact footprint that allows installation where floor space is limited or comes at a premium. It comes automation-ready and the optional/retrofittable AWC (Auto Workpiece Changer) provides additional productivity by offering up to eight pallets to feed the machine for unattended machining.
