It’s a dog’s life at Ford Motor Co.’s Van Dyk transmission plant in Sterling heights, Mich.
Working with robotics firm Boston Dynamics, the automaker has launched a pilot program with Fluffy the Robot Dog, which roams the plant floor creating fast and accurate 3D scans that help Ford engineers working on retooling manufacturing plants.
Is it cute? That’s debateable. Is it cool? Definitely.
