Mitutoyo Canada Inc. recently celebrated its 50th anniversary with an event that celebrated its employees past and present, its distributors, and end users.

Several pictures from the event are included here. The summer event was part of the company’s year-long celebration of the milestone, which includes several events. September 2023 will see the company’s return to the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show.

Mitutoyo Canada was established in 1973, originating in Montreal and later moving to Mississauga in 1979. The main office is located in a 50,000 square foot facility on Meadowvale Blvd. in Mississauga and employs 63 staff. The space facilitates a spacious Metrology Solution Centre. Since 1986, Mitutoyo has operated a satellite office in Montreal which includes a Metrology Solution Centre, sales, sales support and service departments.

Mitutoyo Canada is part of Mitutoyo Corporation, a global provider of measurement and inspection solutions offering the most complete selection of products encompassing CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), vision, form and finish measuring machines as well as precision tools and instruments.

Fifty years of conducting business in Canada is certainly a milestone. Much has changed in the metalworking industry over this time. How has Mitutoyo kept pace with the changes?

“Our development teams from around the world and factory staff in Japan have worked continuously to improve our products and expand their reach.  With new technologies impacting the manufacturing floor, Mitutoyo has focused on improved accuracy of measuring devices and increased access to real-time data,” Mitutoyo president Matt Dye explained in interview with Shop Metalworking Technology magazine. “When tied to the manufacturing process, our measuring systems can improve efficiencies and reduce cost through process improvement.”
