Schunk has opened a new Collaborative Customer Workspace, or “CoLab,” at its facilities in Morrisville, NC.
The company says the new collaborative workspace will be a place where customers’ technical and engineering teams can collaborate on applications and automation design in the early project stages alongside Schunk personnel and industry partners. The CoLab will allow processes to be fully tested and adjusted before customers move to the next step and invest in their own machinery and equipment.
The new facility was opened with an online event earlier this month.
“The new CoLab workspace in the US will be the central hub for Canada/US,” Clint Hamid, general manager of Schunk Canada, told Shop Metalworking Technology. “Having it close by will allow us to invite selected partners to visit, train and discuss real life applications in the US. At times, our local partners would like to see the advantages of our products. Now we can show off our different types of technologies in a collaborative environment, all in real time and in the convenience of our CoLab workspace.”
