Iscar has upgraded its Do-Grip double-ended DGN/R/L inserts for parting with an improved clamping system.
It features a more rigid method, increased resistance to side forces, improved straightness and better surface finish and more indexing cycles when compared to the current Do-Grip system.
The current tools and inserts will be replaced by two main types: the Do-Grip-IQ 550 Straight Line and the Do-Grip-IQ 550 Twisted Line. The Straight Line is comprised of .079 in. (2 mm) double-ended inserts with neutral, right and left-hand frontal edges and C and J-type chipformers. The new inserts are .157” longer than the current inserts, thus enable grooving deeper and parting larger – up to 1.89” diameter. The Twisted Line is comprised of .118 to .236 in. (3 to 6 mm). Like the current inserts, grooving and parting depth depends on the tools being used. Due to their twisted configuration, the rear side of the insert can enter into the groove produced by the frontal side of the insert.
