The SPRINT system from Renishaw is designed to bring what the company says is high speed, high accuracy scanning to CNC machine tools.
It records a constant stream of accurate 3D points across the part surface and analyses this data in real time on the CNC machine tool controller to provide game-changing opportunities for automated in-process control.
To maximise the potential offered by the technology and capability of the system, Renishaw has produced a number of industry-focussed applications allowing scanning to be easily adopted as the next generation of on-machine probing.
The system consists of a Blade Toolkit for high speed measurement of blade sections, a MTM toolkit for repeatable measurement of diameters on multi-tasking machines; the Machine Health Check, that verifies machine capability in less than a minute and checks for kinematic centre errors as well as linear errors, and Prismatic applications, for high speed scann capability for circules, arcs and planes.
