General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada has announced that it has become a network partner of the Southern Ontario-based Next Generation Manufacturing Canada Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster.
The Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster is part of the Innovation Superclusters Initiative, made possible through the Canadian Government’s Innovation and Skills Plan. The superclusters initiative is a co-investor in Canada’s manufacturing industry and aims to create a critical mass of innovation activity with gravity powerful enough to attract talent, technology, investment, and customers from around the world.
The initiative secures government investment in the Advanced Manufacturing sector over the period of 2018–2022, and is designed to support business-led innovation superclusters across Canada to encourage Canadian economic growth and innovation leadership.
General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada is a defence industry specialist in land and amphibious systems development and integration. Based in London, Ontario, it employs approximately 2,000 people in the design, manufacture and support of light- and medium-armoured vehicles, and specializes in machining, materials, electronics, software development, prototyping, logistics support and systems integration.
