Exsys Tool has opened a new repair and sales operation in Brampton, ON, to provide more technical support and service to Canadian customers.
“We’re based in Florida and in the past if a customer who had just purchased a machine needed our help to set up our tools on the machine we couldn’t be there right away; it might have taken a couple of days,” explains Scott Leitch, sales manager for the San Antonio, FL, company. Now with a repair facility in Canada we can support our customers much more quickly.”
Exsys Canada opened its doors in January and will soon be holding lunch and learn sessions for customers to help them better understand the functions of Exsys’ modular toolholding sytems, says Leitch.
“Our tools are very rigid and very stout and there have been many technical advances in these toolholders for horizontal lathes, which is what we specialize in. The tools are quick changeable and they can be preset offline, which means manufacturers aren’t wasting time in setup because, as everyone knows, if machines aren’t making chips they’r
e not making money. We want to help educate customers on the capabilities of the products they’re using in their machine shops.”
Exsys currently has three people working out of the facility, but Leitch says the company plans to hire sales and support staff within the next five months
The company will focus on supporting customers with its Eppinger line of toolholders, as well as a repair facility for rebuilding/repairing damaged holders. The repair facility will be able to accept any tool manufactures’ toolholder, and not just from Eppinger.
“We have many Canadian customers, such as Magna Powertrain, Striker and Integrity Mould that need special tooling. We are concentrating on the Eppinger product line and striving to keep manufacturing in Canada. With our expertise in the industry and our ‘know how’ approach, we will help the Canadian economy grow into the future. We are excited about this venture and we look forward to providing solutions. “
The company will ship orders from the new facility’s warehouse, as opposed to using it only as a distribution centre. As a result, customers will obtain products as quickly as possible and be able to deal directly with Exsys.
