Cylindrical grinding for micro parts

The Studer S11 cylindrical grinder from United Grinding made its debut at EMO 2013 in Hannover, Germany.

The machine is the smallest in Studer’s portfolio and designed for workpieces up to 200 mm. The compact machine offers what the company claims is twice the productivity on the same area. For those using a Studer S36 grinder and producing parts up to a maximum length of 200 mm, they can now use two Studer S11s on the same production area as that required for an S36. And, claims the company, the one S11 has a 15 per cent higher productivity than the Studer S36. Essentially, two Studer S11 machines can produce up to 230 per cent more on the same area as that required for a Studer S36, claims the company.
