The CTMA has officially welcomed its newest member of the board of directors.
Mike Van Nie, senior manager, human resources, Valiant TMS was added to the board during the CTMA’s virtual Annual General Meeting, which took place in Oct. 2020.
“Valiant has always been very supportive of the CTMA, and it’s a pleasure to have Mike on our board of directors,” said Robert Cattle, executive director. “We have no doubt he will be a great addition to the team.”
Valiant has been a CTMA member since the CTMA’s inception.
“I have been familiar with the CTMA for a long time, as Valiant’s founder, Michael Solcz Sr., was one of the original forces behind the establishment,” said Van Nie. “Over the past few years, I have gained more exposure to seeing the benefits the CTMA is bringing to the machining, tooling and automation industry.”
Van Nie has been with Valiant for 18 years and is currently the HR manager for Valiant in Windsor, which encompasses six facilities and approximately 500 team members. He works closely with the HR manager of the U.S. facility in Auburn Hills, Mich., as well as with colleagues around the globe.
“The CTMA board is made up of several individuals who have very strong technical backgrounds, and while that is not my area of expertise, I believe I can bring an additional perspective to the table as the Association continues to develop and support our industry,” said Van Nie.
