Loyalist’s welding and fabricating shop is gearing up for the start-up of its new two-year welding fabricator technician program. As part of the preparation, the shop is investing in a new CNC brake and CNC shear.

The welding and fabricating shop is currently houses Lincoln welding equipment, roll forming, plasma cutting and testing equipment.

“We’ve haven’t purchased the brake and shear equipment yet, but we’re considering several companies, including one who said it would provide our students with the bending software so they could take it home and play with it to get accustomed to the features,” explains John Grieve who runs the shop and fabricating and welding programs.

The facility also offers Canadian Welding Bureau certification for several arch welding processes, as well as Level 1 Welding Inspector.
