Coherent has released ExactCut, the first offering in its new ExactSeries of fine materials processing equipment.
ExactCut micromachining systems combine intelligence, integration and interconnectivity for precision cutting of metals, alloys, sapphire, polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and ceramics. To reduce integration and qualification time, ExactCut ships with pre-programmed process parameters for the desired application. Manufacturing applications include medical devices, electronics, automotive and horology, although ExactCut is also flexible for multipurpose job shops.
ExactCut systems combine pulsed fiber laser sources (300 W / 3 kW pulse peak), a high stability granite motion module and an intuitive user interface. The software simplifies the entry of parameter and process recipes – particularly valuable for short or prototype production runs and rapid changeovers. The ExactCut is designed to be integrated into high volume production, with a variety of interfaces for specialty tooling, rotary or linear stages, part handling robotics and conveyor belts. ExactCut systems also feature remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance and are supported by Coherent’s worldwide service infrastructure.
