Victor Castela has received the 2021 Trades Ambassador of the Year Award from the Canadian Tooling and Machining Association (CTMA).

Castela was given the award “in recognition of his contribution and dedication in mentoring tomorrow’s machinists.” He received the award on Nov. 25 at the CTMA’s Annual General Meeting.

Castela teaches manufacturing at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School in Cambridge, ON, where he also leads the school’s e-car team, which has seen students build three electric cars over the program’s 10 years.
