Bystronic Canada names new Managing Director
- June 2, 2021
He is replacing the current managing director Roberto Nicoli, who has taken on a new role at Bystronic in Europe. Wooldridge brings both in-depth technical expertise and hands-on shop experience, as well as extensive leadership skills across all core areas of operation, ranging from production and cost controls to consultative technical selling and customer service.
“David is an accountability-driven leader who elicits peak performance from sizeable teams by capitalizing on his earlier technical career as a Licensed General Machinist to build relationships steeped in trust and respect,” says outgoing managing director Roberto Nicoli. “He excels at fortifying sales team performance by coaching effective technical selling. He takes a metrics-driven approach, focusing on KPIs, batch size decreases, lean manufacturing and set-up reductions to drive maximum shop flexibility and throughput. I am confident that David’s strong skillset and leadership capabilities will be key catalysts in Bystronic Canada’s continued growth and success.”
Prior to joining Bystronic Canada, Wooldridge served as Canadian direct sales manager with Mazak Canada, where he established key performance metrics and optimized sales methods to secure new customer accounts and significantly built the company’s customer base. Wooldridge has held roles as CNC programmer, production manager, plant manager and then vice president of sales at various machining businesses.
Wooldridge holds a Business Administration and Management degree from McMaster University, as well as other professional credentials including ISO Internal Auditor and Production Management and Scheduling from the Canadian Management Center.
