TRUMPF invests in laser marking production

TRUMPF has expanded its laser marking production facility in Grusch, Switzerland, to meet growing worldwide demand for its marking lasers.

The US $17.8 million investment includes a 3,300 sq m (35,500 sq ft) new building, expanding the existing product development and manufacturing facilities at its Swiss plant.

“Our previous capacities were simply no longer able to handle the numbers of incoming orders. At groundbreaking in March 2012, orders had risen by 70 per cent in comparison with the year before. This will certainly support our plans for continuing growth,” explains Andreas Conzelmann, general manager at TRUMPF Laser Marking Systems AG.

The new structure doubles the production floor space formerly available. The building is outfitted with modern technology and an isolated clean room meeting high cleanliness standards. The manufacturing and logistics processes are aligned with the TRUMPF Synchro production system. All the work is now carried out on a single level for easier control of the procedures. This new structure also provides for significant improvement in manufacturing and logistics processes.

The company plans to introduce two new TruMark product lines during the upcoming business year.
