Bystronic Inc., has introduced new software features for its laser, bending and waterjet product lines. PartID is a new feature of the company’s BySoft 7 CAD/CAM software.
The identification code is generated with BySoft 7 and then laser-engraved onto the part using a Bystronic laser cutting machine. At the press brake, the PartID is registered by a scanner unit and the bending program can be loaded automatically. Parts marked with it provide a means for part traceability. A new feature, OPC Interface, is installed on the company’s laser cutting machines. It collects information about the manufacturing progress on laser and waterjet cutting systems. Users can transmit the information to their own monitoring systems. A new Observer feature is a passive remote monitoring system that keeps users up to date about the operating status of their systems and about how the processing of orders is progressing. The feature is accessed by means of web-enabled terminals such as desktops, notebooks, tablets and smart phones.
