Mazak Optonics’ new Modular Automation Systems includes load/unload cells, flexible automation systems, automated parts sorting and factory automation.
Standard material thickness for all modular automation systems is 1 in., and they can incorporate a variety of loading tables. Mazak Optonics also offers parts stockers in 10 and 20-shelf configurations, with up to a total of 40 shelves possible, for sheets and plates. Plus, parts stockers and unload tables are available for handling cut parts.
Mazak Optonics’ Flexible Manufacturing Systems and Load/Unload cells are expandable. They can accommodate as many as four machines for delivering unparalleled levels of automated production.
A key advantage of the new Mazak Optonics Modular Automation is greater flexibility of the line controller in terms of scheduling or modifying laser cutting jobs. Mazak Optonics’ Line Controller functions include cutting schedule implementation; raw material inventory management and material transfer; and cutting program transfer from anywhere on the system Network. The controller also coordinates delivery of material and programs–even in a multiple machine environments–and facilitates loading and unloading of individual machines.
With the Line Controller, shops gain access to vital production data. For instance, what was cut, when it was cut and how long the cut lasted. Additionally the controller reduces stand-by time and eliminates system stops caused by cutting condition checks prior to running programs. A scheduling function further reduces processing times by optimizing machine utilization.
