The Laser Genius+ 2D cutting machine.

Prima Power will be showcasing its latest sheet metal processing systems at Fabtech this year.

Heading the list will be the Laser Genius+ 2D cutting machine. The system features high dynamics (trajectory speed of 180 m/min, acceleration of 2.8 g) and precision levels. Laser Genius+ is available in three sizes – 1530, 2040, and 2060 – and a range of laser powers. Laser Genius+ is “plug & play” with quick installation times (ready to cut in two days) and a symmetrical and reversible layout that increases ergonomics and ease of integration into any production context. Despite a compact layout, Prima Power says Laser Genius+ has the largest working area compared to other 2D machines available on the market (X, Y axis travel: 3150 x 1600, for the 1530 model, 4320 x 2200, for the 2040 and 6320 x 2200 for 2060).

Laser Genius+ features two 24-inch full HD monitors and a 4K video camera as standard.  Also included are integrated software modules that simplify processes, new sensors, and artificial intelligence algorithms for advanced monitoring and process control functions. Laser Genius+ can be connected to the wide range of Prima Power automation systems. At FABTECH, the machine is exhibited with the Compact Server automatic loading and unloading device for raw and processed sheets, which has a very compact configuration to enhance flexible material handling.

The Prima Power bending solution on display in Atlanta is the eP Genius 1030, which integrates an eP-1030 servo-electric press brake with automatic tool storage. The servo-electric technology combines with an automatic tool change system, which is especially helpful for small batches.

Some important features are the 105 t weight, the bending length of 3060 mm, the automatic CNC crowning, the five axis backgauge and the IRIS Plus angle control system on motorized arms controlled by CNC. The tool magazine houses 32 metres of tools on eight tool holders that move on three axes. A rotating turret allows the tools to be rotated, increasing machining possibilities. The user interface allows the programming of the piece in an intuitive way, both on the machine and off-line, as well as the automatic management of the machine setup.

Prima Power will also show its Combi Sharp 1530 with Compact Express. The system is a compact punching and fibre laser cutting cell offering high accessibility. Attendees will also be able to see the Combi Sharp compact punching and fibre laser cutting cell, featuring two resonator alternatives and large tooling capacity, optimized cutting head, collimator, transfer fiber, and cutting parameters for cutting up to 8 mm material thickness. The machine also features the Punch Sharp, a modular solution that can also become a combi machine at a later stage, if production directs towards more complex parts. A new safety system allows easy access to the machine, manual loading of sheets and easier unloading of large parts and skeleton. The Combi Sharp is equipped with the Compact Express, an automatic and flexible loading and unloading unit which allows several combinations of automatic and manual loading and unloading cycles.

Fabtech 2022 takes place November 8-10 in Atlanta GA. Prima Power will be in Booth B7917.
