Jet Edge
5 axis cutting
The Edge X-5 five axis waterjet cutting system cuts complex taper-free and 3D parts from virtually any material.

The machine features the company’s Permalign Edge technology and is capable of cutting chamfers, weld bevels and 3D parts such as impeller blades. An industrial PC controller designed for five axis waterjet cutting, AquaVision Di has an open architecture design to give operators the freedom to fine-tune programs from an CAD/CAM/nesting software, using standard G&M code. The system’s Intelligent Work Envelope adjusts automatically depending o,n the angle of the cut. The machine is available in different sizes from 5 by 5 ft (1525 by 1525 mm) to 24 by 13 ft (7515 x 3365 mm).

Flow
Taper compensation
The Mach 2c, the newest machine in the Flow Mach series waterjet line, is now available with the company’s Dynamic Waterjet taper compensation. The company claims Dynamic Waterjet produces faster, more accurate parts by adjusting the taper angle with speed. Stream lag and taper are inherent issues in all waterjet cutting, which in the past was minimized by reducing cut speed. The new technology features “Active Tolerance Control” which counters taper and stream lag using “SmartStream” mathematical models.

Mitsubishi
Cantilever design
The MWX3 uses a cantilever design and comes standard with an auto-grease system for lubrication to the linear ways and axis drive systems. It is equipped with a 60,000 psi KMT pump and allows for easier use of control graphics, functions and editing. X, Y and Z travels are 72, 144 x 10 in. (1,828 x 3,657 x 254 mm) and workpiece size is 82 in. (2,083 mm) wide, 153 in. (3,886 mm) in diameter and 10 in. (254 mm) high.

MultiCam
High pressure cutting
The five axis 3000 series waterjet machine uses high pressure to cut accurate parts with an excellent finish and no heat affected zones, claims MultiCam. The machine can be configured to use pure water or abrasive cutting, and the five axis cutting head provides cutting flexibility. The machine can cut bevelled parts, reducing secondary processing in some applications.

OMAX
Bridge style waterjet
The 60120 JetMachining Centre is a bridge-style abrasive waterjet machine equipped with a 50 hp EnduroMax pump and Tilt-A-Jet cutting head. The machine handles a range of production runs and is a good fit for space-challenged facilities. It can cut large complex parts up to 1.5 m by 3 m from a variety of materials and thicknesses, including advanced composites, exotic alloys, traditional metals and rubber. The machine comes with OMAX’s Intelli-Max software suite and will be on display at Spark & Co.’s booth.
