Celebrating Dr. Mohamed Hashish

Dr. Mohamed Hashish is marking an impressive 45 years of dedicated service with Flow. Renowned for his groundbreaking work in waterjet technology, he remains a driving force in the industry. Whether in his office or the cutting labs at the Flow headquarters in Kent, WA, Dr. Hashish can always be found working on the next advancements in waterjet technology.

In the late 1970’s, Dr. Mohamed Hashish led the Flow team of engineers who invented the abrasive waterjet.

This advancement led Dr. Hashish and his Advanced Applications group to explore projects for outer space.  Dr. Hashish’s team created the first commercially viable High Pressure Pascalization System, for preserving and sterilizing food.

He has also published numerous papers on waterjet cutting and waterjet applications.

 Dr. Hashish is named inventor in 70 US patents and in 270 worldwide. All of Dr. Hashish’s patent applications have converted to patent grants.

In 1993, Dr. Hashish was awarded the WaterJet Technology Association’s (WJTA) first Technology Award. He was also awarded the Pioneer and Service Award in following years.

Dr. Hashish is an active member of WJTA, helping honor and celebrate others in their contributions to the industry.
