With its new ByTube Star 130, Bystronic says it has a fiber laser cutting system that offers fabricators and manufacturers an easy entry into tube processing, a growing manufacturing market.
The applications for tubes are very diverse: from automotive and construction to furniture, machine, and equipment manufacturing.
The ByTube Star 130 is the optimal solution for sheet metal processing companies that want to expand their capabilities, Bystronic says. The automated system reduces the need for manual interventions, making entry into the field of tube processing particularly easy.
Since 85 percent of the market potential lies in the small tube segment, the ByTube Star 130 is designed for processing tube profiles with dimensions between 3/8 and 5 inches and workpiece lengths up to 28 feet and a capacity of 11 lbs./ft. Tube profiles include round, square, rectangular, oval, standard closed and open sections. The machine has a loading capacity of 11 pounds per foot. Since 2D cutting accounts for 90 percent of the market, the 2D cutting head can process a large number of customer orders.

Fiber laser ensures speed and flexibility
The ability to process a wide range of material types and thicknesses offers users the flexibility required to manage a diverse range of orders. Additionally, a growing number of fabricators are discovering that laser cutting eliminates the need for sawing and drilling machines as these capabilities can be incorporated within the single fiber laser cutting operation— and considerably faster. Thanks to clean cutting edges, deburring is also a thing of the past. This not only results in reduced labor costs, the higher throughput speeds reduce the costs per part, which creates a huge advantage when competing for the best price.
Software turns beginners into pros State-of-the-art sheet metal processing is not possible without high-performance software. The powerful Bystronic ByVision Tube user interface is highly intuitive. All the functions relating to tube laser cutting are displayed on a single, 22-inch HD touch screen. Users can visualize realistic 3D part animations, create cutting plans, and monitor production processes with easy-to-operate software-driven menu selections.
