Okuma America has announced its plans for its 17,000 sq. ft. booth at IMTS 2022, which will include 15 CNC machines, eight automation systems and a dedicated Service and Technology area.

Highlights at the Okuma booth (#338500) include the debut of three new CNC machines, a next-generation proprietary energy management technology, new digital twin capabilities, and a centralized media studio for hosting podcasts, media events and presentations.

All 15 CNC machines on hand at the show will be running live demonstrations. Highlights include the Western Hemisphere debut of the VT1000EX Vertical Lathe and MA-8000H Horizontal Machining Center, and the global premiere of the GENOS M560V-5AX Vertical Machining Center

The VT1000EX features a highly rigid mechanical configuration, along with high thrust and torque. It is designed for industries looking to reduce cycle time for difficult-to-cut materials. The spindle can reach a maximum power output of 55 kW, a maximum torque of 5,310 Nm, and thrust of 30 kN on the X and Z axes. Okuma says this power and torque make it possible to do heavy-duty cutting for difficult-to-cut materials and can reduce cycle time by up to 51 percent.

Okuma MA 8000H Horizontal Machining CentreThe MA-8000H horizontal machining centre is designed for a range of machining applications from heavy-duty to high-feed machining. The machine’s work envelope and expansive travel ranges (X axis: 1,400 mm, Y axis: 1,200 mm, Z axis: 1,350 mm), coupled with a highly rigid bed and cast-in ball screw mounts for highly accurate drive and positioning, make it suitable to cut medium-to-large workpieces. Additionally, powerful spindle options effectively handle materials across the metal spectrum.

In addition, eight of Okuma’s 15 IMTS 2022 machine tools will be featured with automation systems. And the company will highlight its services offering and will be a participant in the Smartforce Student Summit, an educational initiative which is part of the trade show.
