Shop Metalworking Technology has received an award for circulation excellence.
It was the only trade magazine in Canada to win the award, presented annually by the Circulation Management Association of Canada (CMC) at the ACE (Award for Circulation Excellence) Awards. It recognizes outstanding performance on the audience side of publishing.
A panel of volunteer judges are assigned with the task of identifying the ‘best of the best’, and awards are announced at the CMC luncheon held each year at Canada’s MagNet conference and trade show.
Just four magazines in Canada received ACE Awards this year. One was Magazine of the Year (Canada’s History), one was Chatelaine for a Retail Promotion success, one was Zoomer for a Gift Subscription promotion, and the only trade publication to win an award was Shop Metalworking Technology for “Trade: New Launch.”
“Our team at Shop is thrilled to be in the same company as these large Canadian publishing players, and extend our congratulations to our circulation manager, Brian Gillett, for spearheading Shop’s circulation strategy and to editor Mary Scianna for the success her editorial team has had in capturing the interest of the thousands of Canadians who have signed up for subscriptions to Shop,” says publisher Larry Bonikowsky.
Much of the weighting for the award is derived from results, and as a new launch Shop went from zero to over 17,000 requesting individuals.
The proof of the results will be in Shop Metalworking Technology’s June AAM circulation audit.
