PVD-coated milling grade

Walter has introduced its new PVD-coated WHH15X milling grade for finishing and semi-finishing of hardened components up to 63 HRC.

The new grade extends tool life during finishing and hard machining operations, Walter says, enhancing surface quality and reducing cost.

The WHH15X milling grade is also designed for finish-milling of steel and cast-iron components when using wiper inserts. Finish machining of a component is possible with a single cutting edge.

The grade extends tool life, especially with hardness of 58 HRC or greater. It can be used universally for finishing on ISO materials P, K, and H, and is well suited for copy milling in die and mold making, providing superior surface quality thanks to its wear resistance and edge stability, and helping reduce costs by reducing the need for manual rework when copy forming.
