KYOCERA is introducing the PR20 Series insert coating technology for indexable grooving tools, designed specifically for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.
Featuring Kyocera’s proprietary MEGACOAT NANO EX coating technology, this next-generation PVD coating delivers exceptional performance across various grooving applications, the company claims. MEGACOAT NANO EX is engineered with high-content aluminum nano layers, providing stable high-temperature hardness and wear and oxidation resistance. These attributes translate to significantly enhanced tool life and reliability, even under the most demanding machining conditions, the company says in a release.
Currently available for Kyocera’s popular GBA external and SIGE internal grooving systems, the new PR20 Series ensures precision and longevity in every cut. The innovative multi-layered structure of MEGACOAT NANO EX not only increases the durability of the inserts but also maintains superior cutting performance throughout extended use.
