The International Special Tooling and Machining Association (ISTMA) recently held its 2023 General Assembly virtually, bringing together representatives of the special tooling community from around the world, including the CTMA’s president, Chris Hergott, and executive director, Robert Cattle.
One of the main topics discussed was the ISTMA World Conference, to be held in South Africa in November. The CTMA will also be in attendance for the World Conference.
“This will be the first World Conference held since the pandemic, so I am sure that it will be well attended by members throughout the world who would like to meet in-person to hear the presentations that are being supplied by the impressive list of ISTMA Global Sponsors,” said Cattle. “The CTMA will be sending representatives to this meeting, and I encourage our members to attend as well, for where else to you get an opportunity to personally meet people from so many different countries who work within the precision metalworking industries.”

The conference will coincide with the All Africa Expo and the event will collectively be branded as the All Africa Expo ISTMA 2023. The All Africa Expo will give African countries a platform to showcase their tooling manufacturing abilities and investment potential and will offer continental tooling producers exposure to the world’s foremost tooling technology, tooling houses and influential role-players. The All Africa Expo will showcase Africa’s pockets of manufacturing excellence and offer global networking opportunities to the continent.
