SGS Tool has added the new Multi-Carb to its high performance end mill product offering. The Multi-Carb incorporates a large number of flutes for stability and high feed finishing capabilities in applications where surface finish and tolerance are critical factors. The large flute count design allows smoother cutting performance and increased tool life, positively impacting productivity, quality levels, and cost efficiencies.

In the ongoing good-news story about the manufacturing sector, MAG's global results indicate that the resurgence isn't just a North American one. MAG IAS (MAG Americas) and MAG Europe reports near-record growth in bookings and sales in 2011 and year-end bookings are expected to reach close to US $1.6 billion for the combined companies.

Brancko Hohnec has been appointed general manager, Canada, for Seco Tools. He joined Seco 11 years ago and most recently was managing director of Seco in Slovenia. He has a background in mechanical engineering. He will be based in Mississauga, ON.

Eduardo Martin is the new president of Market Area Americas (MAA) for Sandvik Coromant, Fair Lawn, NJ. The MAA region includes Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Mexico and the US. He previously lead Sandvik Coromant in Italy and succeeds John Israelsson, who is now the president of Sandvik Hyperion. Martin began his career with Sandvik more than 25 years ago and started as a machinist.
