Tesla makes ventilator from Model 3 parts

When the call came out for manufacturers to help produce medical equipment, many companies were quick to jump on board. But most of those companies must make ventilators using pre-existing designs, which would require competing with actual ventilator manufacturers for the parts and materials.

In this video, the team at Tesla hope that repurposing parts from their Model 3 electric vehicle would allow them to produce ventilators without negatively impacting the current supply chain for those products.

Looks promising, but please note how the engineers touch all sorts of things with their gloved hands, then use that hand to adjust their facemasks. That’s a pandemic no-no!
