APMA is inviting automotive manufacturers to three exclusive in-person info sessions with its president Flavio Volpe to discuss the next phase of Project Arrow.

The info sessions are scheduled for London, Vaughan and Windsor and participants can hear about the vision for the Project Arrow fleet and how suppliers/partners can participate in the RFP process.

The RFP deadline for APMA members is April 15.

In this next phase the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) is looking for suppliers and ecosystem partners to join Team Canada in building a small fleet of 10-20 zero-emission concept vehicles.

The way Flavio Volpe, president of APMA,  sees it, Arrow 2.0 will exist as a series of unique vehicles, each encompassing a customized blend of talent and innovation. No two Arrow 2.0s need to be alike, generating a host of possibilities.

“We’ve got a series of different options. Let’s call it Arrow 2.1 and 2.2 and 2.3 to be the showcase for how you lightweight an EV. And it might be that in Windsor, you do something with advanced propulsion, so that would be Arrow 2.4. Certainly, across this country, there are clusters that need to come into play here,” Volpe recently told Electric Autonomy.

Volpe also told Electric Autonomy that the Arrow should be seen as a conversation starter that acts as the catalyst for knitting together industries and players that need to be communicating as transportation moves towards electrification.
