Worth Reading: Metal craftsman builds never-created car

BC metalworker David Ryan’s project—to build the body of a Cord Aerospace coupe by hand—is the subject of a recent profile at Driving.ca.

The Cord Aerospace was designed by Ryan’s current automobile collector client, using the Cord brand name of American luxury auto maker Auburn in the 1930s. The Cord Aerospace design that Ryan is working on was never actually manufactured, and his will be the only completed Aerospace automobile body.

Ryan’s journey to the Aerospace project is a long and interesting one, starting with an enthusiasm for European auto bodies that he developed when his salesman father would bring home Dinky Toys and plastic cars.
