Canadian private equity firm Thrust Capital Partners (TCP) has acquired DCM Group Inc. (DCM), a Quebec manufacturer primarily serving the aviation and aerospace sectors.

TCP’s acquisition was conducted in partnership with Desjardins Capital. Investissement Québec (IQ), who was already an investor in DCM, will retain its ownership stake.

Founded in 1987, DCM Group is one of the largest subcontractors of aerostructure parts and sub-assemblies in the province of Quebec and one of the three largest manufacturers of aircraft maintenance / GSE tooling in the world. With over 100 machines, DCM also boasts a sizeable CNC machine pool

“DCM has a strong track record of growth through acquisition and integration that TCP wants to boost. Beyond providing capital, our extensive aerospace experience will also contribute to the success of this acquisition as DCM expands globally,” said Frédéric Loiselle, Partner at TCP.

Jean-Charles Raillat, DCM’s CEO, and the management team will remain in their current roles.

“There could not be a better shareholder group for DCM to support our ambitions, as well as those of our employees and the communities we operate in. Tomorrow begins today: DCM 2.0” said Raillat.

DCM manufactures structural aircraft parts and aerostructure sub-assemblies. Capabilities include machining, EDM, Sheet Metal, Tubing & Ducting, Welding, Assemlby, Chemical Processing, NDT & Painting.
