Aerospace parts manufacturer Héroux-Devtek Inc. has been awarded a multi-year contract by plane-maker Boeing to manufacture new actuation components for several commercial aircraft platforms.
Based in Longueuil, Que., Héroux-Devtek says most of the work will be carried out by its Compañia Española de Sistemas Aeronáuticos, S.A.U. (CESA) subsidiary in Spain.
The contract will include the supply of production requirements and spare parts for Boeing’s 787, 777, 777X, 767 (including the Tanker version), and 747 airframes.
“I am very proud of our team in Spain for the hard work they put in to winning this contract,” said Martin Brassard, Héroux-Devtek’s president and CEO.
“It is the largest actuation supply agreement ever for Héroux-Devtek and sparks the beginning of the realization of the cross-selling opportunities we saw in the CESA acquisition. I have no doubt that our team will build on our great relationship with Boeing by delivering the same excellent quality in our products for the actuation market segment that we have demonstrated in our landing gear systems.”
This deal marks the largest contract for Héroux-Devtek Spain since the acquisition of CESA in October 2018. This mandate has also led to full qualification by Boeing of CESA’s design capabilities and special processes, enabling further potential opportunities.
