Saint-Gobain Abrasives has recently introduced Norton Blaze R920 Ceramic Alumina Flap Wheels which are designed to deliver a smooth finish with a fast rate of cut. The wheels are ideal for aggressive grinding and precision finishing, blending, deburring, cleaning, and producing uniform finishes on tough parts that are manufactured in hard-to-grind materials including super alloys, stainless steel, and cobalt.

The Norton next generation of sharp, ceramic abrasive grains and advanced grinding aid lubricant provide significantly faster, cooler, burn-free grinding. A flexible but strong, heavy cotton backing wears evenly which delivers chatter-free cutting action, longer-life for less changeovers, and ensures flexibility for the application while eliminating aggressive sanding action. An advanced full resin bond system promotes grain retention which increases product life.

Norton Blaze R920 flap wheels are able to achieve close tolerances when finishing curved, contoured and hard-to-reach areas and are available in both spindle-mount and arbor hole designs. Norton spindle-mounted flap wheels give a controlled rate of wear, exposing new grains, making them ideal for uneven surfaces and a cost-effective replacement for brushes, rubber points and felt bobs. With shanks that run through the center of the wheel, spindle-mounted flap wheels create better balance, and reduce chatter and operator fatigue. Norton arbor hole flap wheels are used on bench-top and fixed-based pedestal tools. The wheels are more forgiving than other abrasive products, which reduces the possibility of flattening, gouging and surface deformation for fewer rejected parts.

Norton Blaze R920 flap wheels are available in 1", 2", 3", with ¼" steel shank sizes and 6" x 1" x 1" arbor hole. Additional sizes and grits are available custom made to your exact requirements. To learn more about the entire Norton Specialty product line, visit http://www.nortonindustrial.com

Bandsaw with increased cutting output

The new Behringer HBE Dynamic Series bandsaws use a high torque, frequency controlled blade drive motor. The specialized gearing in the drive is engineered to produce the blade power and speed needed to achieve fast cutting and peak throughput rates. Because the drive is low horsepower and energy efficient, power consumption is reduced while energy savings and high production are realized. The new saw is designed to meet a broad range of applications in the steel trade, mechanical engineering, tool making and in high-end metalworking shops.
