Handheld beveling tools with up to 8 mm radius bevel edge

Saar-Hartmetall USA has announced that their line of handheld, electric and pneumatic beveling tools can produce a variety of radius bevel edges including 2 mm, 3 mm (1/8 in.), 4 mm, 6 mm (1/4 in.) and 8 mm (5/16 in.). This includes the SMA-E and SMA-P series of portable beveling tools.
In the electric beveling tool line, the SMA-30E features a milling head design that utilizes dice-shaped inserts that have eight (8) edges that can produce straight bevels up to 3/8” at 30˚, 45˚ or 60˚ and 2 mm, 3 mm (1/8 in.) and 4 mm radius bevels. The SMA-50E is a more powerful tool that eclipses the capacity of the SMA 30E by extending the straight bevel width to 3/4 in. and bevel angles from 0˚ to 90˚. The SMA-50E can also create a 6mm (1/4”) and 8mm (5/16”) radius beveled edge.
The pneumatic line of portable beveling tools known as the SMA-P series includes three models for producing straight and radius bevel edges in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum with accuracy and consistency. Depending on the unit, these tools can produce beveled angles between 0°∆ and 90°∆ and straight bevels up to 5/8″(3/4″ for aluminum) and radii from 2 mm to 8 mm.
“Our line of handheld beveling tools is perfect for creating smooth, burr-free edges in applications where the product is painted or coated and may be exposed to environmental elements,” states Iwan Antonow, executive VP of Saar-Hartmetall USA. “Our tools offer a full range of radii with a very smooth beveled edge for weld, coating or paint prep.”
