Manufacturing sales rise in Arpil

Manufacturing sales rolse 1.1 per cent to a record high of $54.4 billion in April. The icrease was due mainly to higher sales in the petroleum and coal product, and primary metal industries, according to the latest figures from Statistics Canada.

More pipelines for Canada needed to meet future demands

Canada will need more pipelines built through to 2030 to transport an additional 1.3 million barrels per day of oil sands production to markets across North America and around the world, according to the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP)  in its 2017 Crude Oil Forecast, Markets and Transportation report.

Manufacturing innovation support in Quebec

The Government of Quebec and the Government of Canada want to strengthen Canada's manufacturing sector and are offering a non-repayable contribution of more than $740,000 to Quebec organization Economie du savoir Mauricie (ESM) for two projects to help guide manufacturing SMEs in upgrading their technological innovation and delivering investment and market development projects.

Lockheed Martin makes first Canadian investment in solar technology

Lockheed Martin has singed a $5.6 million agreement with Metamaterial Technologies (MTI), representing Lockheed Martin's first solar investment in Canada.

MTI is developing a new product called metaSOLARTM, incorporating advanced materials and its proprietary ultra-lightweight, high efficiency NanoWeb technology, suitable for flight.
